Mesozoic Mind - MesozoicMind.com

Hey guys, thank you so much for putting this song and your wonderful website up so that we fans can enjoy. I remember watching this video on vhs over and over and over when I was 5 years old. I think we eventually wore the tape out enough that the VCR ended up eating it. And soon after it was just a memory. Then yesterday I remembered the part of the song where the triceratops and the other dinosaur were singing "Mesozoic" into the microphone. I thought for sure that it would not be enough to search with on the Google. But here you guys are and it's wonderful. Now my son is 3 years old and I'm going to share this great film with him so that he can carry it forward into the next generation.

I am Ivan from Indonesia, now studying masters in Japan. Thank you for your amazing effort on putting this website! I never knew that there would be someone interested also to this video and particularly, the music!

This video was a great memento of my childhood, which I fell in love in Dinosaurs, perhaps this video is among the most I remember tells about Dinosaurs!(I dont remember even if there is others lol) :D It also made me remembered more of my childhood days in Sydney from 1992-1994 ^^

I had a dream to become a palaeontologist, expert in Dinosaurs and everything, but driven by world reality, especially for someone from Indonesia, living on becoming that is not a good choice for living...

I'm already 23 years old now, running masters program in International Public Administration...I am still wondering how I can utilize my passion for Dinosaurs...well, at least I can have this website to remember the good ol days :D

Btw, do you know the song played during the slideshow (where they show dragons and stuff) explaining the history of Dinosaurs? It sounds so soothing, would love to have a copy of it

Anyways, thanks again Paul! May God bless you for your kindness :D

I can't believe I've found this... I feel like I've gone back in time almost 20 years! I'm 25-years-old, my best friend owned the "Dinosaurs!" video. We hung out almost every weekend, and we were bored one day, so he pulls this video out, I'd never heard of it, and as we're watching it, I notice Fred Savage (big Wonder Years fan), and then this song comes on, and I fell instantly in love with it. We had to watch it all the time after that and the song became our new favorite. He let me borrow the tape once and I pulled out a microphone and recorded the song onto a tape. I've long since lost that recording, but like a lot of people are saying that the song JUST popped into their head after 20 years, that's not how it is for me! That song has never left my mind. It has been permanently tattoed somewhere inside. Not a day goes by that this song doesn't enter my mind. I really can't believe this! Thank you so much for immortalizing such a golden piece of my childhood!

When I was little I loved Dinosaurs: A Fun-Filled Trip Back in Time! but I would tell my friends about it. They had no clue what I was talking about. I have always loved this movie.

I have only met about 3 people ever who have seen this, let alone remember the song. Well, as it turns out, my girlfriend has, and absolutely hates it! I am having trouble with the format on the excel chord page, but hopefully I can play it whenever I want to annoy her! Keep up the good work!

Margaret's Mother! Shut up Richard!

Just wanted to tell you how I found your site... I was finishing a novel called Raptor Red by Robert T. Bakker. The epilogue included the word Mesozoic and I suddenly remembered a song I had loved years back. All I could remember for sure was that it included Mesozoic and animated dinosaurs. I did a search--and there you were!
Thank you!

I think it is rare to say that one truly stumbles on the greatest Web site in existence. I would never make such a statement until I found this one.

Paul,
Wow, lol, exactly as you said… I don’t think I’ve watched or heard that song since I was 7 or 8 years old, and it popped in my head, googled “Mesozoic mind” for the hell of it, and holy crap, there it is. Awesome that you’ve got the site up!

So I was sitting in my house with my roomates talking about all of our favoritte tv shows from when we were kids. Dinosaurs came up. Then the conversation led to how much we all loved watching shows about dinosaurs and we all had dinosaur toys. All the sudden, Mesozoic Mind starts chanting in my head and the movie clips all come back to me. I just started laughing. Next day, I searched and found this site. AMAZING

THANK YOU!! for having the whole Video of Dinoasurs on your website. This was one of my favorite shows growing up. I have had to seen this probably over 100 times. Still has aged well. Love the song too. Thank you.

Great Site!!! I've wanted to hear this song for a long time... I thought I was the only one with the VHS!! Thanks a lot!

For years, any time I have heard the word "mesozoic" come up, I automatically have gotten this song stuck in my head. After watching a PBS documentary about the origin of flowers in the mesozoic, I spent a day with this song stuck in my head and decided I would check online to see if there was any record at all of this song being known by anyone but me. Well! Little did I expect a whole site dedicated to it! And with this refresher course on the tune and lyrics, I can now properly sing the song on any future occasions where I should be moved to do so.

I was absolutely astounded when I found this site!! Today for no reason at all the song from the movie Dinosaurs that I watched all the time as a kid and still own just randomly popped into my head and I had the crazy idea to try to find it to download. when I went to google it I thought there was no way I'd find a site even remotely close and here is a site totally dedicated to that song and movie!! amazing! and a great place to download the song from too! thanks for even having this!

I LOVE your site!!! I have been trying to find this movie FOREVER and for the life of me have not been able to. I wasnt even sure of the name of it until now... all I had to go on was the few lyrics I remembered from Mesozoic Mind.
Would you know where I could buy this movie?

Again, Great site!

You are my hero. I have been dying to see this video again ever since my VCR ate the tape back in 1992. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Oh my goodness, I cannot tell you how much I love this site. I grew up with the movie Dinosaurs and went through a phase where I probably watched it every day.. it's been a few years since I last saw it, but I definitely still remember all the lyrics. My friend and I had names for all the dinosaurs in the band, and we STILL (twelve-ish years later) have inside jokes that originated as quotes from the goofy chalkboard scene with the banter between Richard and Margaret ("That looks like Margaret's mother!"). I can't believe that anyone else in the world has ever even seen this movie, but whoever you are, you're awesome.

Freaking crap, you don't know how long I looked for an mp3 of this song. Thanks so much!

I'm 18 and I still remember watching that video over and over as a kid. What a great video.

Hey. I dont know if anyone checks this site out much anymore, but I just want to say: I have a story to share that's much similar to the others I've read. I watched this movie back when I was four or five and sung along to the song. I remember once my younger sister had made me cry and I turned on the video and sung through my tears. And while I forgot the lyrics over the last 10-15 years, I never forgot the cartoons, clay figures, or little boy from the video. I knew I had to find out what the name of the video was and hear that song again as I have lost the tape. So thank you. The video and song sparked my interest in dinosaurs and instilled in me an everlasting unexplainable enthusiasm for dinosaurs. My only worry is that when I watch the video, now that I'm 20, that I will not have the same feeling as that which is infused in my memory. But thank you so much for helping me remember one of the greatest experiences of my life.

Wow, talk about a trip down Memory Lane! I was born in the 80's and grew up then as well. My sister was born in the late 80's, but in the end, we obsessively watched the "Dinosaur" video when we were little, until our parents were tearing their hair out at the sound of "Mesozoic Mind." Lori and I grew older, and the video sat and collected dust until 1999, when our goddaughter was born. I am now nearly 23 and married, and Lori is 18 and heading off to college, but we have another "Mesozoic Mind" freak in our family. Lizzy, our goddaughter, loves dinosaurs and wants to be a paleontologist, so the "Dinosaur" video is a requisite every time she comes to visit, as is "Mesozoic Mind", as she loves the song. We watched it today, as a matter of fact, then curiously wanted to see what happened to the band on Google, and wound up here. Thanks for bringing back lots of 80's memories for my sister and I and making us laugh. Keep it up! :-)

Great Job with this site.  I have been a big fan of this song and video since I was in 3rd grade.  I still have the tape, and watch it every once in a while with my little brother.  I always figured that I was the only person who really knew about it.  Nice to see I'm not alone.I wanted to get the chord's but my computer wouldn't let me if you could e-mail them to me I would be forever greatful.  Thank You.

AMAZING!!!!
I just saw it on some anicent tape we had at home. now i got it online too, such nostalgia, thanks!

Back when my first son was 3 years old (in 1996) we borrowed the "Dinosaurs" video from our public library. (He was a dinosaur nut - still is.) We fell in love with the song - kept rewinding the video just to hear the song again and again. Eventually, we had to return the video, but we did our best to remember the song. A great deal of time has gone by, and we'd pretty much forgotten all but the part of the chorus. Then today we were playing a dinosaur bone digging game, and when the word Mesozoic came up, I started humming the song. Just for kicks - and thought it would be a gigantic long shot - I decided to search the web for the song. Can't believe there was a site! We played it - and all of the kids (there are four now) were all dancing and singing along in the kitchen around the computer. We were ecstatic!

I grew up with the video dinosaurs (im 23 now) and loved the song.

Wow. This is why I love the internet. Sitting here, watching tv at 2am, the Dinosaurs claymation animation comes to mind and I remember how much I loved a song from it. I couldn't remember the name of it but a few sites into my search, I came across your post on the imdb.com forum and immediately found my way here. Downloaded the song and boy, that brings back memories. I used to love watching my vhs over and over just to hear the song.
Anyway, I know it's a niche thing but that makes it all the better for finding it. Thanks.

O my God. I have been looking around for this song for seriously like 8 years! You guys rock for putting up this website, this song remains my favorite song of my childhood and still rocks the world!

I just got back from a trip to Starbucks to start my rather boring and hectic day at work. I found myself singing a very familiar song from the past. Out of curiosity I thought I'd type 'Mesozoic Mind' into Google and lo and behold I stumbled across your site! LOL! I couldn't believe it. I was sure I'd find the video for sale or a very poor quality website devoted to the movie. Instead I came across a very polished site devoted to this little video. Up until this point I thought I was the only one who has seen it! Great work on the site! Now I can torment my children with the catchy tune that hasn't left my head since I saw the movie at 9yrs old! Thanks for providing tab and chords. I think I'll re-work this into a punk tune! You never know, you might be hearing 'Mesozoic Mind' on the radio!

Thanks!

Awesome site.. I had been thinking of this movie a lot lately as it was my favorite from my childhood. Great job!

My three year old and I love your site. I learned the song for him on my guitar and now it's all he wants to hear me play.

Here's my shot at the chords.

Out of nowhere I started singing mesozoic mind tonight.

Completely random... its a long long lost memory ... surfaced only by thoughts of my little sister.... remembering when we were young.

I could not belive my eyes when the search engine actually had results for it.

Thanks for that.

Figured I'd e-mail you these, maybe something else to go on your site, it's the 98% complete tab of the song Mesozoic Mind made by me. If you don't know what tabs are, it's a free type of sheet music that is on websites that guitarists and bassists learn to read as a way to learn songs (www.mxtabs.net is an example of this), not to insult your intelligence or anything. Hope this is somewhat helpful, and keep rockin' out to Charmer.
